Job Description:

The Regional Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for directing all activities of the hotel sales team across the regional division, providing leadership and motivation necessary to implement effective sales and marketing strategies and to maximize the generation of hotel sales/revenues.  You will oversee and direct the operations of the regional sales team in driving growth and revenue and ensuring high levels of employee engagement and guest satisfaction.

Necessary Skills:

  • Complete all required training
  • Adhere to, manage, and monitor all standard operating procedures and property specific brand standards
  • Develop tactical sales plans and strategies to meet and exceed established revenue, programs, and room night goals
  • Manage change effectively
  • Provide personalized, friendly service to every guest and associate
  • Create and implement strategic sales techniques/plans and find new sources of revenue
  • Develop new key account relationships and business, identifying new sales opportunities
  • Work cohesively with your region’s Director of Revenue Management to optimize revenues across the region’s portfolio
  • Keep up to date on current and emerging trends, markets, and competitors
  • Ensure property leaders respond to sales inquiries from potential clients and customers seeking sleeping rooms, meeting space, food and beverage services, etc.
  • Assist and support sales managers in initiating new sales, prospects and qualified leads
  • Host and entertain clients and maintain client accounts when needed at a property
  • Conduct property site tours with the intent of promoting hotel facilities and services
  • Increase client awareness of all product offerings through client presentations, special events, promotional activities, and marketing outreach
  • Represent and manager trade show appearances/participation
  • Partner with operations departments to ensure full participation in servicing accounts
  • Motivate, cultivate and mentor a high-performing sales team
  • Assist the VP of Sales and Marketing to further develop the organizational structure, talent, and skills necessary to grow the business
  • Assist the VP of Sales and marketing in developing and managing departmental budgets
  • Communicate and advocate needs to the internal team
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds
  • Can perform work for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment
  • Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far
  • Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to handle heat and stress
  • Have finger dexterity for operating equipment
  • Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English
  • Must be able to write 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of successful hospitality sales management or high-end hotel development and operational experience in regional capacity
  • Hands-on, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of successfully developing sales teams to their fullest potential
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and lead successful strategies and tactics to grow sales and increase market share
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment while adhering to high ethical standards
  • Proven ability to build strong, effective relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • In-depth knowledge of the key industry players
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, employee issues, etc.
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in person
  • Able to work a flexible schedule. We are a 24/7 business which may require work availability of nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Is organized, honest, and works well with others 
  • Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person
  • Able to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
